Counselling promotes good emotional and mental health in many ways, developing our self-awareness and helping us understand our reactions and behaviours.

A counselling session lasts 50 minutes. Throughout each session you are free to talk about whatever it is that is troubling you. I will offer my honest perspective in a trusting, caring and confidential environment.

Getting to know 'you'

Working together, we can explore and make links between current difficulties and past experiences. By understanding and interpreting the past, often we can free ourselves from conditioning, and negative behaviours, such as compulsions, or addictions.

Emotional difficulties can lead to a feeling of being overwhelmed, perhaps to the point of losing control. I can help you manage these difficult emotions and begin to work through them, helping you understand yourself - and perhaps your behaviours - better.

Repressed emotions can lead to depression and anxiety. By exploring these emotions in some depth, you can work through them so that they no longer have such negative consequences for you. This helps you deal with any future difficult emotions that may arise more effectively.

Some clients want to explore more specific questions, for example "who am I?", "what do I want out of life?", "why do I always end up in the same situation?" Or, you may want help coming to terms with a crisis in your life, or a relationship difficulty, or perhaps just an opportunity to explore uncomfortable feelings in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
